Almost Go Time!

Goodbye home sweet home! We'll miss you 15 Nottingham
So here we are, all packed up and (nearly) ready to go! It's been a whirlwind year for the Corrammons, from our sunshine-filled wedding day in August, to a jam-packed fall filled with de-cluttering, packing, yard-sales, and finally the move from our first home together here in Guelph. It's been exhilarating, nerve-wracking and all-together kookoo, packing up our little world in exchange for a couple of backpacks and heading to another continent. We are balls of mixed emotions, with excitement and nervousness all wrapped into one. Is it guts? Insanity? Depends who you ask, but here we are, on the verge of a once in a lifetime kind of adventure.

The packing process underway
This extended travel has been in the cooker for some time, over two years in fact. Although we did our best to save save save, cash in air miles for flights, and go through the motions of getting vaccinated against diseases we can't name, giving notice to leave our jobs, our apartment, our family and friends, it has all felt quite surreal. With ten days to go, we reflect on how thankful we are to our loved ones who helped us get to this point. With their love, support, and of course a dash of skepticism (Colombia, really??), it has helped us on our way. We thank all of our wedding guests for their words of love and encouragement, and generosity which will surely help us extend our travels. We thank the post office and school board for granting us the time away and the peace of mind to have jobs to return to next year. We thank our sweet family and friends who have made room in their crawl-spaces, garages, and sheds to help us store what belongings we didn't sell or donate. We couldn't have done this without you!  This last week has been full to the brim with amazing visits and warm fuzzies, and we are just do darned lucky to have such amazing people in our lives!

We hope to get online and give updates as much as we can, wifi access depending. WhatsApp and Skype are also recommended ;) We're not always so good at the whole social media thing, but we will try! And although you may worry and we can't do much about that, know that we will have our wits about us to not go out after dark in questionable places, and that we shall take only the labeled taxis and not hitch rides. We are equipped with our passports, travel insurance, diarrhea meds, hiking boots, and each other, and will be ready to take on the jungles, ruins, and llamas in all their glory.
Mucho amore amigos, hasta pronto!
